Sophie Robertson

Specifications Writer

Sophie believes that the true measure of a specification's success lies in its ability to protect the human purpose behind every design choice and technical requirement.

"My favorite part of the process is reviewing a new project’s drawings for the first time. It feels like gaining an inside glimpse into the lives of the people the project is being built for. It’s the beginning of an intentional journey to transform those early insights into documents that guide successful outcomes for both owners and design teams."

For Sophie, this human-centric perspective is the foundation of her work at Conspectus. With a bachelor’s degree in English, she brings an acute awareness of the meaning and impact of language to the team, utilizing precise wording to interpret design intent and direct successful construction.

Driven by a commitment to professional excellence, Sophie’s ambition led her to earn both her Construction Documents Technologist (CDT) and Certified Construction Specifier (CCS) credentials. Before joining Conspectus, she honed her expertise in specification coordination and technical writing, developing a mindset that balances rigorous technical standards with collaborative problem-solving.

Active in the professional community, Sophie frequently engages with her peers at the Dallas CSI chapter and expands her technical knowledge through SCIP (Specification Consultants in Independent Practice) and IIBEC (International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants) events.

Outside of work, she finds inspiration in nature through hiking and backpacking. She lives in Denton with her high school sweetheart and three cats named Moose, Goose, and Caribou, a nod to her Canadian heritage.
