David Stutzman, FCSI, CCS, CDT, received one national award during the Specification Consultants in Independent Practice (SCIP) annual meeting in Alexandria, VA on October 7th, and two national awards at the Construction Specification Institute (CSI) annual CONSTRUCT conference Institute Honor and Awards Ceremony, which was hosted in National Harbor, MD on October 10th.
SCIP President, Linda Stansen, presented Stutzman with the Award for Education in Specifications and Construction Technology. The award was given based on his prolific educational endeavors that have reached a diversity of industry members including specifiers, architects, engineers, estimators, contractors, installers, and owners. His presentations and publications have encompassed a wide spectrum of building design and construction topics including specifications, building technology, fiduciary responsibility and risk management. His dedication to providing this education and sharing his expertise is exemplified by presenting monthly CSI community webinars, multiple cross-industry association conferences, and publishing content on his company's website, www.conspectusinc.com.
CSI Chairman of the Board, Ellen Kay Crews, presented Stutzman with a Board Chair Plaque. Currently there are approximately 7,500 members in the organization, and Stutzman was one of four people who received this special recognition, for his exceptional work performed on behalf of the Institute. The other recipient is Conspectus senior specifier, Louis Medcalf, FCSI.
Stutzman also received the Outstanding Contribution Award, a prestigious Institute award. This award was given based on his faithful and ongoing commitment to the Institute through his leadership of the CSI Specifying Practice Group, which he spearheaded in 2011 and continues to present. Through this community he has made tremendous contributions in communication and dissemination of best practices information for specifiers. His tireless efforts exemplify the best aspirations of the Institute for member cooperation and community building. Totaling over 110 sessions, they collectively have been viewed and shared by members in the CSI and AEC communities thousands of times. Stutzman also holds the highest honor with CSI, the Fellowship.
